Day 10 - Offense
“In combat the strategies and tactics of how to attack are determined by the strength of your opponent and the circumstances within the match. At the highest level of the sport, the most successful attacks are offensive attacks.”
- Andy Hrovat

Our Focus Today Is Offense
“So just like combat has varying conditions in each match, in a yoga class there are also varying conditions. Some moments demand more of your attention, more of your strength and stability.”
-Em Hrovat
Combat
At the world championships and olympic games the top three ways to score are all offensive attacks. Statistically it is proven offense win championships, this makes sense as the one who is attacking is taking initiative.
What is something new you are attacking this year? What does a successful attack look like?
Yoga
Remember in yoga our attack is the entrance in to the pose. Being offensive in yoga class is leaning in to the pose and not pulling back. It is extending your breath and slowing down your movements and thoughts.
Was there a time in today’s class where you attack a pose and leaned in to new territory? Was there anything today stopping you from leaning in to class and attacking from start to finish?
Life
Too often in life we sit back and expect good things to happen to us without putting in the effort to make them happen. We can’t forget that we are in control of our own destiny and what we attack is the beginning of an unknown journey.
When we attack it is not always clear what the outcome will be but if you back your actions with intention and purpose, you can have faith that those who take the initiative have a greater chance of succeeding.
For today’s challenge write down what you spend the most time everyday doing, What you would prefer to spend the most time doing and what you enjoy doing the most.
